Dear TRF,

I IMed Titus a day ago, and he mentioned to me AS IT HAPPENS that he hasn't given up on us, that his real life workload is crazy but still, STILL, he's been working on TRF5 in his off hours.

And guess what. Except for the backbone and a few discussions we've been having about how best to migrate the forums, I present to YOU, former TRF member, The Rebel Faction 5.0 BETA.

If you can't remember your old e-mail info and/or forum password and you really want to save your name, make a temp account and post in Communications and we will PM you with a temp password or new e-mail. Account options are not completely implemented yet. We're still hard at work back there! (and by we I mean 100% Titus so far)

So come on down, check out the new digs! Feel free to reply with ANY questions you may have. I will do my best to answer them, and failing that, I will ask Titus or Ankh.

No pressure, no expectations, no guarantees. But I'd really hope to see you guys at least pop in to say hello once the board is fully functional. At least give me that. Anyway, here's to 10 more years of MAKING YOUR BID FOR THE GALAXY.

Hi Corran! I am Zark, and Zark is me.

I know I have a lot of RP apologies to make here, to three people in particular, I hope the above e-mail at least helps you understand.

The first is Wallace, now Matheron - I'm really sorry Askrima didn't work out, man. I was really looking forward to writing with you again, but when I left Epics that first time it was a depressive phase I didn't even know about. And Oaken Dawn is still one of the coolest ideas for a RP community ever. For realsies.

The second is Grievous, now Han - I know we made a lot of plans that fell through entirely because of me, but my biggest regret from my time unmedicated at TRF was not writing more with your BDE characters. I thought that would have been rad.

The third is Sam, still Sam - I never RPed with you, and that's because when I was unmedicated I didn't know how to handle female humans in any sort of social context, but I always admired your writing among the top caliber, both here and at TRF. I wish I could have approached you, and that we could have made beautiful, beautiful language together, but maybe one day in the future, if you're interested, we can write a thread together.


Anyway, there's a prologue RP up for TRF 5, similar to Cataclysm if any of you were lurking recently enough to remember it. Its called The Force Wars, and its a story I've been wanting to write from the day I made Zark as a character, aka Arix Askrima. For the first time in my life, I feel like I'm finally ready to tell it, and the first two posts are up on TRF 4 now. I'm hoping two to three more will go up between today and tomorrow, and then I will open the thread to everyone.

And I mean everyone. If you had a character at TRF, if you had ideas but the board was too dead, if you have the time now, Act 1 is the politics act, basically Republic v Empire plus everyone else in between.

Act 2 will be about the Gree and Cree'Ar. I want volunteers to fight the Dominion but other than that, Act 2 is Ahnk (Kal Shora, aka Sean) and my's baby. So we'll handle the heavy lifting there.

Act 3 is all about the Force. I want all Force users I can possibly get. It takes place on the surface of Tython, homeworld of the Jedi and the birthplace of the Je'daii Order, precursor to Jedi and Sith (this is all comic book canon), and it takes place during the course of the space battle in orbit during Act 2.

Everyone I knew, and all the super talented writers here I never got the opportunity to work with. Maybe in a few weeks I'll bring Michael back, but that really depends on how long this manic state lasts.

Anyway, I hope I'm not a forgotten face, at least not completely. I remember Corran quite well, even if we never spoke. He is bros with Han, and Han was bros with me.

So come, or don't! Read, or don't! Mainly, I just wanted to say I'm sorry for bailing on you all more than once, and hi again!

EDIT: I wrote the thread New 52 style, so even if you're not familiar with our canon. Bold means Light, Italics mean Dark, and Both mean Neutral. So even if you have no idea who anyone is, you should know what its about and I've written it so you don't have to know their entire backstory to get who they are and what they are doing right now.

Best sig anyone's made me, wish I could've used it more. Still want to bring Michael back, but that's more like a month or so than imminently. As you all can probably tell, I'm manic phasing pretty hard right now and Thursday I think I might have thought I was a Prophet or something but I'm a reasonable guy and that's not true and I'm in constant contact with professionals so that's all good.

As much as I disdain bumps, just thought I'd stop by again to let you guys know that yes, some of us are still alive and once a year one or two like to write something. We're hoping with the new movies that might change soon.

Anyway, sorry I came at you guys so hard last time around! I was running off a lot of manic energy and my enthusiasm came off a little as recruitment trolling in hindsight.

How's everyone? I know its probably been years, but Sam I will never stop asking about Han. Is he okay? Does he think of me? I think of him. Sometimes when I am sad I pretend he is still an evil robot, and I feel okay.

I am glad at least that Disney and Lucas Arts are trying very hard not to retcon all the stuff fundamental to the series. Hopefully we won't have to change much more than names and faces, whether either community wants to fully embrace new canon or stick with our respective Legends homebrew.
