I tried a traceroute and it indicated somewhere in Tampa.

I'm glad they didn't make it in.They're probably not from Tampa, that IP is a TOR router which means it's an anonymous proxy.
And thankfully it looks like they were just trying to spam using your userID, not hack.

How do we know it was stopped? :glanceMaybe the hacker now has control of the account and is just TELLING us all of this because, after hacking his or her way through Jari's computer, they somehow managed to overpower and tie up Jari, and now the real Jari is stuck inside a makeshift cell frantically pounding on the door and trying to find a way out?

…. side note, I am not real clear on how hacking works. Last time someone tried to hack my computer I put a couple of bricks on top of it and that seemed to prevent them from crawling out through the screen, but I was worried about them slipping out of the USB ports so I sat there with my shotgun for a while.
