History: Zaafaron is an Ubese from the planet Ubertica. The Ubese were originally from the planet Uba IV but in the distant times of the Old Republic their planet was decimated by war. Some of the survivors were moved to a new home on Ubertica. Here for millennia they evolved and developed their culture in isolation from the other members of their species who had remained on the homeworld. The survivors who remained behind consider themselves to be the’ true’ Ubese and refer to those from Ubertica as the yrak pootzck.

Zaafaron grew up in the insular and xenophobic Ubese culture raised to be loyal to those of his clan and species and to have contempt and distain for members of other species. As he grew Zaafaron became intrigued by the galaxy and like many Ubese known for their wandering, nomadic ways he longed to journey into the stars. He trained hard throughout his youth. The Ubese are a violent and aggressive people and he was taught to fight with his hands and to handle blasters from an early age. His planet was also not very affluent and its inhabitants grew accustomed to hard living and self-reliance. Zaafaron also shares his peoples affinity for technology and became a competent mechanic something which was a necessity on a deprived planet.

Upon reaching adulthood Zaafaron followed the path of many of his kind and headed out into space to find work. Unenthusiastic about working as a mercenary or henchman and being at the beck and call of another being he instead began to take bounties. Zaafaron found his true calling in this work. He was able to wander the galaxy and hunt challenging marks without having to answer to a higher authority. From time to time he works with other hunters but for the most part he hunts alone.

Personality/Traits: Zaafaron is a cold being. He has little regard for the members of other species or other people in general. However he has respect for his prey and for others who demonstrate skill or courage. He is aggressive but not recklessly so and has long learned the hunters skill of patience. He is single minded in the pursuit of his chosen profession and has trained himself to very high levels of proficiency. His political stance is largely non-existent. He is loyal to himself, his clan, his people. Empires and Republics come and go but there will always be work for beings with his skills.

He is violent, aloof and in many ways the typical Ubese but Zaafaron does possess a sense of honor and will keep his word when dealing with others. He is also an avid reader. His travels across the galaxy have brought him into contact with many cultures and species and their ideas and philosophies and he values knowledge and wisdom. His ships computer core holds hundreds of such texts and when travelling aboard his ship he will often occupy his time not spent training with meditation and the reading of obscure ancient military texts.

Appearance: Zaafaron is rarely seen outside of his full Ubese battle armor. His armor is mostly black and grey in colour instead of the traditional browns. While he is seldom seen in public without his armor he has on occasion not worn it in order to go unnoticed and gain the element of surprise. He is of average height and slim build as is usual for his species. However beneath his battle armor his body is wiry and muscular, forged into peak physical fitness by constant training. His skin is dark and his eyes large and vivid green. His race being unable to grow facial hair he is clean shaven and bald, which adds to his solemn, serious appearance.
