Name: Cadell Ruvin
Age: 35
Species: Miraluka
Gender: Female
Homeworld: Alpheridies

Appearance: Cadell as is Miraluka custom wears a blindfold over where her eyes would be out of courtesy for other species. She has red hair that she keeps tied up in a ponytail, when she was younger she wore simple clothing consisting of a white shirt and pants, but now that the old Empire has fallen, she's taken a more Jedi like look, consisting of a long brown robe worn over a lightly armored tunic and armored greaves as well as wearing her lightsaber openly.

Personality: Cadell is a bit rough around the edges, initially untrusting, wary of those she first meets due to her past. But she is truly dedicated to helping people with their problems and will often go out of her way to help someone in need, especially children and orphans. She has a nasty dislike of the slave trade and has broken up several slaver rings whenever she could. When you get down to it, despite her troubles, she is a Jedi Knight at heart.

History

Cadell Ruvin was born on Alpheridies to Almerre Ruvin and Kel Ruvin. As a Miraluka, Cadell had natural force-sensitivity. However unlike many Miraluka, Cadell had enough sensitivity to become a Jedi, but with the Order’s fall, that possibility was unlikely to ever happen. So Cadell grew up with her parents on Alpheridies like any other normal person.

From a young age, Cadell had an affinity for music. With her parents working full time as freighter pilots, Cadell went along with them on many of their trips. As such she never really developed a sense of planetary identity with Alpheridies, instead developing a sense of identity incorporating many different styles from the planets she visited and the cultures she met.
But it was the music that really grew on her, her parents were fond of the arts, whether it be music, art, or literature. Whenever they docked on a planet they would spend much of their downtime visiting the local culture. Whether they did it to have more family time together or just to drive away the monotony.

Either way, Cadell grew up on music and art, developing an enjoyment of art, music in particular. When she was six, her parents bought her a Zabrak Quetarra as a lifeday present. After that it was all she did, she would practice over and over during the long space flights between planets.
However, it wasn’t long before everything changed. Her parents began to fall on hard times due to the increasing taxes imposed by the Empire. Kel and Almerre began to take small time smuggling jobs on the side, not much just a little extra to keep them floating.

When you get into smuggling though, you have to remember that it is never just smalltime and there are always people wanting to skip out on paying. At age nine her parents chose the wrong smuggling job and were murdered by their employer, who wanted to skip out on paying.  Of course this left Cadell as an orphan with a ship she didn’t know how to pilot.
When the employer sent thugs to seize the ship, she barely escaped with her life.  This left her alone with just her quetarra, the only thing she was able to take with her, on Bandomeer.

It was quickly established that she would have to struggle to survive. She was stuck in the slums of Bandomeer, no social services would save her and people only seemed to want to exploit her. By her fourth month in the slums she’d become so bruised and battered that she was hardly recognizable. Her musical talent got her only so far before she had begun to resort to stealing.
During her time on the streets she made friends out of another street urchin, a rodian named Truvo, who she often worked with on scams, thefts, and whenever she needed to find places to perform for credits. This of course brought her into conflict with a  small-time Chevin gangster named Sorhven Jal. Many times the people Cadell and Truvo scammed or stole from were members of Sorhven’s gang.

Fortunately for her, she managed to hit a stroke of luck when she tried to pickpocket a Jedi. Rane Trelboh had come to Bandomeer to hide from the Empire. When he found Cadell, she was half-starved bruised and beaten, angry and brimming with Force potential.

He quickly took her in and began to help her recover from her ordeals and train her. Originally he had only intended to teach her enough to get by on her own.  However as with all good plans, things change and he ended up taking her in as his impromptu padawan.

Rane had been a Jedi Master who had survived Order 66 and gone into hiding. He taught her not only to use the Force but also taught her history, science, mathematics, grammar, and other things acting as not only her Jedi Master but her teacher. A sort of emotional anchor for her to deal with the things she experienced  on the street.

For the first few years, Rane only taught her to use the Force, to control it and affect the universe around her. However, this came with its own problems.
Around her third year of training Truvo contacted her for help, Sorhvel was after him for a scam he and another friend had pulled. Sorvhel wanted him dead and Truvo had no one else to turn to.  Unable to leave a friend in need to die, Cadell rushed off to help her friend, armed only with a blaster and the Force at her call.

Sorvhel had a base set up deep within the slums of Bandor, the capital of Bandomeer. Together Cadell and Truvo fought their way through Sorvhel’s small gang and to the Chevin himself. However, Sorvhel easily overpowered and beat both of them, forcing Cadell to reveal her force abilities.
If Rane hadn’t come to the rescue, both of them would have died. With no more secrets to keep, Truvo began working with Cadell and Rane extensively, ferrying supplies to their camp out on the plains and bringing them news of the rest of the galaxy.

It was also at this time that Rane began teaching Cadell in the use of the lightsaber. Rane had his saber and the saber of his former padawan, murdered during the siege of the Temple.

For the next six years Rane pressed Cadell’s training farther and farther as he pushed her to her limits, day in and day out. Truvo had started working as a small-time bodyguard/bounty hunter in the city, preying upon gangsters, scam artists, thieves and the like. They both had their dreams, to become a Jedi and famous bounty hunter respectively.

Unfortunately it was around this time that their cover was finally blown and the Empire came after them. Two Inquisitors and a division of stormtroopers deployed from Coruscant to capture or kill the two Jedi.

With their Taozin amulets, the Inquisitors managed to hide their approach until it was almost too late. When news hit the planet of a Star Destroyer in space overhead, Truvo was able to warn the two before they were ambushed.
Rane, Cadell and Truvo fled to the city in an attempt to escape in the ship Rane had stolen years ago to come to Bandomeer, but the Empire got there first.  What followed was an intense battle between the three and the Empire. Outgunned and outnumbered, Rane willingly stayed behind to hold of the Inquisitors while Cadell and Truvo escaped. Rane fought bravely but ultimately fell in battle.

Barely escaping the planet alive, Cadell and Truvo left for Nar Shadaa to hide in the underworld slums until the search for them began to die down. For the next year they hunted bounties on Nar Shadaa, quickly beginning to gain a reputation as an effective team with a code of honor to only take the most criminal of targets.

When the Rebel Alliance won their major victory at Yavin, Cadell and Truvo left Nar Shadaa behind and ventured into the wide galaxy. Almost immediately they came to the attention of the Inquisitorius who dispatched the two inquisitors from before, to track them down.

In the meantime, Cadell and Truvo picked up a new bounty, a human slaver by the name of Tarn Orlin had earned a bounty of 40,000 credits in the outer rim.
Figuring he would be the perfect choice for their next bounty, the pair set off to find him. They went to Tatooine first, as rumor had suggested he and his gang were set up there for a time.  While they didn’t find Tarn there, they ran into a group of Jawa’s who gave Cadell a new lightsaber crystal for helping them.

From Tatooine they left and flew further into the outer rim towards Averam. During their search they heard rumors that Tarn was set up in an abandoned warehouse. When they got there however, they were ambushed by the an Inquisitorwho had made a deal with Tarn to trap Cadell. They managed to defeat the Inquisitor and from him obtain the location of Tarn’s gang.

Together the duo flew to the shadowport called Cademimu. Finding Tarn on Cademimu wasn’t difficult, what was difficult was the actual capture.  Due to a sheer coincidence Tarn was in the middle of a meeting with several of his top smuggler/slaver contacts when Cadell and Truvo confronted him.

At the same time, several other bounty hunters had come to claim the numerous bounties in the room and a group of abolitionists triggered a riot among the slaves on the port.  The chaos that followed was legendary among Cademimu’s residents as four sectors of the port erupted into warfare. Cadell and Truvo barely pulled themselves out of that fight alive. They were saved by a freed Twilek slave, Avar’ollan, or Ava Rollan to non Twilek, who healed both of them to the best of their ability.

After healing the duo collected Tarn and his compatriot’s bounties, totaling up to 61,000 credits, Ava joined the duo as a doctor and the three set off for new adventures.

They journeyed to Brintooin, Chirrion, Daluba, and Indu San. During this period Cadell and Ava developed a budding relationship, fostered by the many trials they’d faced along the way.

Life was good and it seemed like it would go on forever, until on a visit to the planet Bortras they were ambushed by the Inquisitor who had killed Rane Trelboh, her former Jedi Master.  The Inquisitor had brought an entire company to kill the three rogues.  Cadell won the fight barely, but Truvo and Ava were killed in the battle, each dying to protect her.

It was also around this time that the Empire lost at Endor and the Inquisitors turned their focus inwards, leaving her and other rogue Jedi alone. Alone and in despair, she retreated to Yaga Minor to recover and meditate. She stayed on Yaga Minor for three years before she returned to traveling, acting as a private investigator.

Currently she is searching for the man who murdered her parents nearly thirty years ago.

Re: Cadell Ruvin: Jedi Knight

The other admins Sam and Han will have to approve your bio, but then you can start writing in the stories.

Of course you can check the stories already to see where you would like to join. Or post in the OOCs. :)

Re: Cadell Ruvin: Jedi Knight

The two current active stories are the Rogues and then the Imps on Tatooine. It will be one big story soon.

Re: Cadell Ruvin: Jedi Knight

Hmm, choices ,choices. Thing is though, I'm not quite sure where in there a Jedi would fit.

I suppose I could fit in with the Imps on Tatooine if I went with the whole 'looking for my parents murderer' deal but it's too soon to go that way.

What's going on in the Rogues arc?

Cadell Ruvin Jedi Knight

Jedi Academy is a great game, and I still go back and play it every once in a while.  Definitely the best of the series.
