When 9/11 happened, everyone sought comfort and family.

Living in Long Island New York at the time, I was greatly affected.  My epics family was my salvation.  I will always remember how strangers on the internet who I wrote stories with were my surrogate family during one of the most horrific times in recent american history.  So thank you everyone who was there then.

As always Epics remmebers.

It still brings tears to my eyes. Thank you for posting. And I’m sorry we weren’t here last year. Hopefully we’ll be here for many years to come.

I hadn't joined Epics at the time, but here on the West Coast, most of us were just waking up or sitting down to breakfast as events were unfolding. I was just staring dumbfounded at the TV as reports kept coming in. And when I went to work at the transit district, I was struck by how somber everyone was. Normally, the garage bays were a cacophony of sound–pneumatic tools, machines, music–but that day it was very quiet, as all the radios were tuned in to the news channels. And that Friday, when the San Diego Union-Tribune included a printed American flag to be displayed in/on your car, I made damn sure mine was pasted prominently on my work truck's tailgate.

A day that changed the world.

Hopefully future generations will finally understand that we are all citizens on the same planet and should live peacefully together.
