Name: Marcus Rosier (Phonetic translation to basic of the Falleeni Ma Xus Rozer)
Species: Falleen
Homeworld: Falleen
Occupation and rank: NRI Major (Reserve Officer), Alpha Blue Operative
Age: 41
Height: 186 cm
Weight: 80 kg
Hair: Dark brown
Eyes: Blue
Skills/training: Competent with a blaster; dabbles in hand-to-hand combat, mechanics and piloting

Appearance: Marcus fits the mold of a falleen soldier. His lean physique and pronounced musculature bears testimony to rigorous workouts, whereas his clean-shaven head and cheeks are suitably militaresque. Even his face conforms somewhat to the facsimile, with symmetric features sporting a straight nose, hollow cheeks and blue eyes beneath slender, looming brows. He has a rather high-handed profile that makes him seem haughty by default and the impression is re-inforced by his aloof demeanor.

His skin has a green tinge to it, though as a renegade Falleen he hasn't quite mastered the art of controlling his skin pigmentation. As a result this is not a consistent feature, what with slight alterations in hue occuring at intensified moods.

Personality: Although by all accounts Marcus is a disciplined military man, he is emotional to a point where he risks compromising his integrity – that is, by falleen standards. He is highly opinionated, with a temper to boot, and only by sheer willpower does he keep these traits from interfering with his performance in his work. Which is to say that he has learnt to override these characteristics when necessary, never mind consequential brooding and internal moral quandary. By doing so he has developed a great deal of self-control, although it's a dual-edged sword for how it infringes on his social skills.

He is intellectually gifted and has a good head for organization and strategy. While he's got the knowledge to do well at it, his extremist stance on politics infringes on his abilities in that field. Fiercely devoted to his ideals, Marcus is rigidly inflexible in his beliefs and does not take well to compromises. He makes up for it with plenty of zeal, suggesting borderline fanatic idealism that hasn't faded with time or experience.

He profiles himself as terse and efficient on the surface and privately he's as withdrawn and unapproachable as this demeanor implies. Given judgmental tendencies and outcomes of past relations, he has a limited capacity for friendship and tends to distance himself from his peers.

Biography: Born on Falleen to a union of politican and business woman, Marcus was mainly left to the care of nurses and nannies throughout his upbringing. His parents, both of them busy with their careers, remedied the situation somewhat by seeing their child as often as they could between their respective arrangements. They maintained good relations with Marcus throughout most of his upbringing and up until his teens he held them in high regard, despite occasional tiffs.

Spoonfed from birth with the view of Fallen as the cultural and civilized centre of the universe, he learnt little of the surrounding galaxy until later in life. Indeed, his knowledge thereof was still fleeting when Vader's aerial bombardment of a Falleen city shattered the proverbial glasshouse of ignorance. As the leaders of Falleen advocated restraint and stricter isolationist policies, Marcus and other younglings were infuriated at the lack of action or retaliation.

Unsure of how to cope with his anger, Marcus turned to his father for advice. As his father advocated the merits of neutrality and calm, alluding to Falleen's losses in the Clone Wars, Marcus found himself infuriated and turned the situation into an outright argument. It, along with the subsequent scolding for his inability to control himself, resulted in little but increasing resent for the ideals of his parents. He refrained from further outbursts, attempting to grasp at Falleen discipline, though he grew more and more distant from his parents ever since the incident.

It was a rebellion in his mind. Going out of his way to research current affairs, he learnt as much as he could of the galactic situation as well as the organized political movements opposing that of the empire. He grew quiet and withdrawn among other Falleen, unwilling to brandish his loyalties openly in fear of the public opinion. The selected few he confided in throughout this period became his closest friends ever and had a considerable impact on his life in one way or another. It was with one of them, Zira, he left his homeworld to join the rebellion, though the latter thought it was a traditional Falleen pilgrimage to see what lay beyond their system. As he traveled with her under false pretenses, they parted ways in anger at his eventual involvement with the rebels.

Given the turbulent times, the meagre ranks of the rebel alliance and Marcus' lack of pre-existing skills, the untried Falleen found himself assigned to many different posts before some manner of permanence was established to his record. Serving with an entrenched infantry unit at the battle of Hoth, he stepped in as temporary squadron leader at the death of its commanding officer and did a good job at keeping the group together throughout the battle. Recognized for his achievement succeeding their escape on a transport, his lot was sealed through a promotion to captaincy in the absense of more qualified candidates. Given ample opportunities to test his mettle in subsequent rebel campaigns, his rise in prominence among the alliance ground forces was inevitable.

He stayed on with the alliance in spite of Vader's death at the battle of Endor, motivated as he was by rebel ideology more so than the quest for revenge that drove other renegade Falleen. His devotion served him well in the following years, earning him steady promotion to the eventual rank of major. However gradual movement from the frontlines to intelligence gathering didn't sit well with him, nor did the apparent encroachment of civilization upon his precious ideals that he came to witness while he was stationed on Coruscant.

Increasingly disillusioned with how beaureaucracy hindered decisive action in the New Republic, he found solace in like-minded company that augmented more so than alleviated his frustrations. Ultimately his beliefs were put to the test as his clique of friends descended into vigilanteism, exacting frontier law rather than NRI counterpart in response to petty slights of pettier yet criminals. Spurred on by one another, they continued enforcing their view of justice for some time.. Until NRI law enforcement caught up with them and put a number of their ranks behind bars. In conjunction with the decimation of the group, Marcus was approached by one Matheron Thayer who possessed dangerously accurate intel on his and his remaining friends' identities. Told to either cooperate or be branded an enemy of the state, he found himself half-coerced, half-encouraged into becoming an undercover agent for the NRI OPC - an inofficial arrangement that cost him the support of his friends, his first mission being to end their rampart activities, but that sat well with his budding fanaticism for how it allowed him a continued role rooting out wrongs in society.

Yet the OPC was not the only organisation that took an active interest in his zeal. Shortly after his agreement to do the OPCs bidding, he was approached by an Alpha Blue operative, receiving an equally interesting offer from a shadowy branch of the New Republic suppposedly far less constrained by public relations. Given convincing proof of that he'd be helping the higher echeleons of the Republic achieve precisely what he strived for, decisive action, he was offered a lucrative bargain in exchange for keeping tabs on developments of the OPC. Already at odds with the self-assertive manipulations of OPC operatives, he was quick to take them up on the offer, becoming a double agent for an as of yet largely unknown employer. The need for secrecy in his new role forced him to effectively break with his old life, which among other things meant downgrading his official commission to reserve officer, as well as permanently ending his association with his fellow sentients.

Navigating the demanding and sometimes conflicting orders of his respective employers took its toll on him, his deceptions fuelling his disillusionment and increasing asociality all the while it honed his skills in other departments. The downward spiral continued as watchful eyes deemed him worthy of other tasks and reassigned him to where he was better employed. Although he has since performed multiple special operations missions both within and beyond the New Republic, he knows very little of the agency he is working for and less yet of what it means to be himself.

Re: Marcus Rosier

He did, and it'll be elaborated on once I've conducted appropriate research. The way I look at it, character bios are always works in progress. Anyway. I take it that means I'm approved?
